In the summer of 2023, as I prepared to leave for an extended stay abroad, I hand-drew a set of small cards, each inspired by quotes I loved, and gave them to my girlfriend the day I left. The number of cards matched the days we’d be apart, so she could draw one each day until we were reunited.

When I returned, I shared the cards with my friends—and they loved them. Their enthusiasm encouraged me to take this project a bit further: I began digitizing the drawings with Illustrator and imagining a world and a story around them. That’s how the adventure of Kiddo was born.
